Day 1: Arequipa - Chivay - Cruz Del Condor - Cabanaconde - San Juan (1st Overnight)

3:00-3:30am – Pick-up tourists from their respective hotels in private bus to take them to Colca Canyon. After a 3-hour journey, we will stop in the town of Chivay to have breakfast. We will then continue on to the Cruz del Condor, where we will spend 45 minutes enjoying the fabulous flight of the condors and the impressive scale of the canyon. We will then head to the town of Cabanaconde (located at 3287 m.a.s.l.) where we will begin the descent to the town of San Juan de Chuccho. The hike will take around 3 hours down to the Colca River, where we will cross a suspension bridge ending the first day’s hike in San Juan where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we will learn about the native fruits and medicinal plants that grow in the area. This will be followed by dinner and spend time in a local family’s house. We will spend the night here, ending the first day of the tour.
